Classic Cabin Application Fee Black Elk Retreat | August 2026
This $150 Application Fee secures your place in the application process for a Classic Cabin and Shared Bathroom at the Black Elk Retreat— a week-long, integrative retreat blending psychotherapy, equine-assisted therapy, daily Mass, and structured rest. The remainder of your tuition will be $4,850 plus 3% processing fees for credit card payments or $5 processing fee for ACH, payable by invoice. Full tuition will be due within 3 business days of acceptance.
This non-refundable fee covers the comprehensive review of your submitted intake materials, including the detailed psychiatric intake questionnaire, wellness assessment, and equine readiness assessment. The review process ensures the retreat remains a secure, predictable, and safe container for all participants, allowing focused entry into deep interior work on themes such as childhood wounds, trauma, grief, or anxiety.
Upon submission of the application fee and completed forms:
Your materials will be carefully evaluated (typically within 3-5 business days).
If the retreat is determined to be a clinically and safety-appropriate fit, you will be invited to complete full tuition payment (with options for ACH to minimize processing fees).
In the rare event that the intake review identifies concerns making participation unsuitable at this time (e.g., acute crisis indicators requiring more intensive support), the application will not proceed, and no further payment will be requested. The $150 fee remains non-refundable due to the administrative and clinical time invested in the screening process.
This structured application step prioritizes participant safety, group cohesion, and the integrity of the therapeutic and spiritual environment. Acceptance is limited to maintain an intimate, contained group size.
Once accepted, you will be invited to complete registration to stay in a private bedroom within one of the ranch cabins, with a shared bathroom used by a small number of other guests in the same cabin. The accommodations are comfortable and rustic, designed to support the quiet, reflective environment of the ranch.
Please note: Cabins vary in layout and décor, and exact room assignments cannot be guaranteed. Guests who select this option will receive a private bedroom with shared bath access, and rooms will be thoughtfully assigned prior to arrival.
Your retreat registration includes
• Six nights lodging at Hawkeye Ranch
• Daily psycho-spiritual formation led by licensed Catholic clinicians
• Small cohort group therapy sessions
• Guided equine therapy experiences
• Daily Mass, prayer, and guided meditation
• Optional individual therapy sessions (based on availability)
• Opportunities for confession or spiritual direction with priests
• Ranch activities such as guided hiking, fly fishing, watercolor, and reflective time in nature
• All meals prepared by the ranch chef (breakfast, lunch, and plated dinners)
• Transportation coordination from Cody airport
• Access to the full Hawkeye Ranch experience, including chapel, trails, pond, and reflection spaces
Terms & Conditions: By purchasing registration for Black Elk Retreat, you understand that you have 48 hours from the time of purchase to request a full refund. After that 48-hour window, your registration becomes non-refundable and non-transferable. Because of the limited nature of this retreat and the required pre-retreat intake process, all sales are final after the 48-hour refund window. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment in the event of illness, travel disruption, family emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances.
By registering, you also understand that attendance is subject to completion of the required intake materials within 5 days of purchase. Hawkeye Ranch Services LLC reserves the right to determine whether this retreat is an appropriate fit for each attendee based on the intake process and may, at its sole discretion, cancel and refund a registration if the retreat is not deemed appropriate for the attendee’s needs.
